Cascadia Underground is excited to announce our first volunteer-written article!

After more than a month connecting with some amazing folks out there, I’m so excited to finally highlight our fantastic network of volunteer writers that have begun to contribute to the Cascadia Underground website.

Our first article is Heat Domes and You, submitted by volunteer Dennis Beaman. Viewers can expect posts from Tuesday through Thursday, ranging from volunteer-written pieces on topics relevant to Cascadia, articles from myself discussing current events, and archival material from the Cascadia Underground library on all sorts of Cascadian history.

You can read the first article here:

The CU website aims to be a space where any Cascadian can write about the topics that are most important to readers like you, and we hope to bring a variety of stories, videos, podcasts, and more!  This is open to anyone who would like to write an article, or share an update about something they care about.

For those not familiar, the Cascadia Underground is a media center that we operate in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, as well as a region wide collective and website where Cascadians can share articles, podcasts, media and video about the Cascadia movement, bioregionalism, or important issues facing our bioregion or that they may be involved with.

There’s been a lot going on behind the scenes and there is still so much more Cascadia Underground wants to do for the Cascadia community, but we are excited to show you all what we’ve been up to!

Santi is the editor for the Cascadia Underground and currently a student at Seattle Pacific University working towards a degree in Communications and Journalism. He is also an editor for their student run newspaper. As a newer member of Cascadia, Santi hopes to revitalize the spirit of Cascadia within the people of the Pacific Northwest and change the mainstream perception of the movement into something that encompasses all. Santi helps facilitate writers and content creators to publish content that aligns with Cascadian beliefs and values, and he hopes to bring Cascadia into the spotlight through the media he works on.
