Cascadia Center for Leadership opens 2020 Application Cycle

The Cascadia Center for Leadership, which is celebrating 20 years of training and supporting local leaders, is accepting applications for its 2020 10-day Leadership Development Program. The application deadline is Oct. 18, 2019.

Through the program, participants have opportunities to grow and hone skills in how they lead and collaborate with other individuals, teams, and organizations.

The program is for those who manage staff or volunteers, and is held in two-day sessions over the course of four months. The 2020 session dates are Jan. 23-24, Feb. 13-14, Feb. 27-28, April 9-10 and April 23-24.

“Cascadia was a chance of a lifetime for locally developing a stronger leadership philosophy,” said Connie Griffith-O’Neal, Site Administrator with Ferndale Community Health Center and graduate of the 2019 Cascadia program. “The materials shared and tools we were given will take us through any challenges that come our way.”

Cascadia Center for Leadership, a program of the Humboldt Area Foundation, is co-directed by Mary Gelinas and Roger James, principals of Gelinas-James, Inc., an international consulting, training and facilitation firm. Along with team members Heather Equinoss and Robert Maurer, they offer both transformational and practical leadership concepts and tools to emerging and seasoned organizational and community leaders interested in collaborating across teams, organizations, and sectors.

Over 500 people have graduated from the program and continue to use Cascadia skills over the course of their careers. They include nonprofit leaders, politicians, government employees, business owners and manager, and community organizers. 78.3% of Cascadia graduate survey participants shared that Cascadia was more effective or much more effective than other leadership development programs they have participated in. Additionally, they report continuing to use what they learned on a daily and weekly basis. The cost of the program is $1,850 per participant and includes all meals, materials and tuition. A limited number of partial scholarships are available.

Enrollment is limited to 28 participants and an application is required. For more information or to apply visit www.cascadialeadership.org.
