Directory of First Nations & Indigenous Groups - Create a directory of First Nations, with information on the areas, languages and traditions of each.
Envisioning & Decolonizing - To have a discussion with organizers from each group and nation to explore what decolonization truly means, what a future Cascadia would look like, and defining pathways forward for true reconciliation.
Hosting Interviews - With activists, elders and organizers.
Educational Resources & Tools: Print materials and presentations that include making us more effective organizers, Cascadians and Bioregionalists.
Support & Solidarity - Provide support and solidarity for events, activities, campaigns, groups and nations as defined by each.
Mission: Connecting and supporting indigenous sovereignty movements around the world, making bioregional and indigenous ways of living more accessible, and growing a confederation within the Cascadia bioregion working for independence, sovereignty, and autonomy - in solidarity and mutual aid with one another, around our shared principles.
Guiding Question: What does a confederation of groups and nations within an independent Cascadia look like? What does decolonization and reconciliation mean for each nation already living here? What does a pathway forward, with the support of each group look like?
Envisioning a future independent Cascadia bioregion starts and ends with the First Nations of our region. The Department of Bioregion envisions many nations sharing the Cascadia bioregion, working together around shared principles, in confederation and mutual aid with one another, to establish a governing structure that can be democratic, equitable, and just.
The goal of the Department of Indigenous Sovereignty is to reach out with every Indigenous Group, First Nationa and Sovereignty Organization to begin that discussion, including what decolonization truly looks like, and to begin a conversation towards true reconciliation. In addition it works to create more accessible pathways for holistic indigenous ways of living that are specific and learned over thousands of years for each place, and grow positive connections that can support each as defined by each.
Each department and project has a senior leadership team who works to make sure that everyone within the work group has the tools and resources they need to be effective at their goal.

Be a hub for projects and diplomats working around a specific cause or issue and work together with other embassies and departments as part of larger campaigns. Be a regional hub for supporting Diplomats, Projects and members for that issue.
Connect with First Nation and indigenous sovereignty groups in each area and begin a dialogue on how to grow a confederation with the Cascadia movement.
Connect with First Nation and indigenous sovereignty groups in each area to create solidarity events and publicize ongoing activities that they define needing help with.
Connect with First Nation and indigenous sovereignty groups in each area to begin conversations for what decolonization and reconciliation means. Issue reports for pathways forward.
Create a directory of Cascadian First Nations
Connect and support activities that grow and connect bioregionalism to businesses and consumers, and shift our buying habits in that direction, based on our core principles.
Have regular meetings, that are in person and accessible remotely.
Provide regular blog posts and create an archive of activities, projects.
Connect department events, reportbacks, updates and activities with our website and social media.
