After a two year hiatus due to COVID, Cascadia Northwest Arts and Music Festival is excited to return this year with an equinox gathering to reignite the magic and reconnection of the Cascadia community. While it will be much smaller than usual, the goal will be together in person, fundraise and build energy for a full return of the CascadiaNW festival in 2023.
The Department of Bioregion has been excited to partner with Starborne shows to make it happen, and in addition is excited to announce that we have received a grant from the Washington Festival and Events Association, in partnership with ArtsWA and the Washington State Department of Commerce.
For those not familiar, Cascadia NW celebrates our beautiful Northwest culture, with three days of music, art, and camping. Traditionally held on nearly 300 acres of North Cascade scenery at the Masonic Family Park, near Granite Falls, Washington, this year will be held near Sedro Woolley at the Moon Mountain Lodge. Cascadia NW is produced by Starborne Productions and the Department of Bioregion, as well as hundreds of other members of Cascadian communities from across the Pacific Northwest.
Each year, the festival is unique in that festival goers and organizers divide up into different camps, including Mythica, Genesis, Ecotopia and Technosis, each of whom have their own stage, art and music that they coordinate and orchestrate. 2015 was the inaugural Cascadia festival and it was a huge success! More than two thousand Cascadians took part, with an amazing weekend of music, art and just a great all around time.
If you're planning on making it and it's your first Cascadia NW- expect a wonderful time with other Cascadians, and like any Cascadian festival, come ready to dance and party, rain or shine.
