As we wind down from a blazing hot summer to a crisp fall, we want to remind you all that many of your local farmers markets are also coming to close for the season. While, we had a late cherry season this year the Rainer cherries were loved, devoured, and shared amongst all of Cascadia. Our little pocket of the planet holds a plethora of produce that thrives here; local gardeners, field workers, and windowsill herb tenders are all looking forward to what fall has in store for us.
Specifically, September holds what we are known for, apples, and we have heard some amazing news; the apple trees are thriving this year! Last year, due to a cold spring and early snowfall there was a big decline in production, this year, farmers are telling everyone that the crops are, not only better than last year, but better than numerous previous years. So go out and grab those cosmic crisp, galas, and granny smith.
